  • Vozz: Un Proyecto Electoral Para Jóvenes

    Vozz es un proyecto eleccionario impulsado por jóvenes que les empodera con la información y la capacitación que necesitan para ser periodistas durante el período pre y post eleccionario. Nombrada por jóvenes de la capital, Vozz aprovecha el espirítu y la voz de un pueblo jóven para compartir informes desde 20 municipalidades en todo el país, fortaleciendo el compromiso cívico y la responsabilidad social. Los participantes cargaran informes a través del teléfono móvil, Internet, y por vídeo a través de YouTube.

    Vozz is a youth-driven election project which empowers young Guatemalans with the information and training they need to be citizen reporters throughout the pre- and post-election period in Guatemala. Named by youth in crime-ridden Guatemala City, Vozz captures the spirit and voice – voz – of young people to share election stories from 20 municipalities throughout the country, creating lasting ties of civic engagement. Participants will upload reports via mobile phone, the web, and video reports via YouTube.

As journalists, you have to be prepared for anything to happen and it is a great time to get interviews with candidates. There is a lot of standing around and waiting and people get nervous, sometimes people just need to talk to someone else.

With just over a month to go, the way seems clear for Otto Perez Molina and his Partido Patriota to be victorious in September 11's elections. Perhaps he will become the first president to win 50% of the vote and avoid a run-off election in November.
